The Android Messages application has just got revamped with latest features. Here are the five new features that will sport the app.
Google has finally rolled out the ability to text from the web via Android Messages. Pretty much similar to WhatsApp Web, the feature will work as long as your phone is powered on. You can continue your conversations anywhere, even on iOS products like an iPad by just using Safari. Not only text, but emojis, stickers, and images are the part of the game as well.
One should remember that Android Messages should be set as your default messaging app. Using Android Web Messages is easy. Download the latest update of Android messages and follow these steps.
- Open https://messages.android.com on any device you want. Wait for the big QR code to load.
- In the Android Messages app on your smartphone. There are the three vertical dots at the top right corner. Click on “Messages for web” option.
- On the next screen, choose “Scan QR code”. Scan the code from your other device. The devices will link in less than a second. That’s it!
To avoid logging in again and again on the other device, you should enable “Remember this computer” from the settings menu on the web application.
Look for perfect GIF right in the app
The ‘+’ button on the left-hand side of the compose bar is for searching GIFs in your conversation.
Smart Suggestions to make things easier
Just like Gmail’s reply suggestions, you will get some automated smart message suggestions while using the app. They come in handy when you are in a hurry to reply.
Preview the links in the app
Sometimes, you wonder whether you should click on a link or not? Here is the solution to it. You will see a small preview of the webpage right in the conversations.
Tap to copy One-time passwords
Whenever you will receive a new message with an OTP inside it, you can copy that OTP with just one tap in the messages app. This will save a lot of time.
As for now, only Android Web Messages has rolled out. Rest of these features will come out next week.
