Google Maps rolling out public event creation to selected users

According to this document. Selected Google Maps users can now create events on the Map.

For the selected users, this new feature could allow users to submit events  to the public events being shown in Maps. Maps has heavily relied on crowdsourced information for a while, so adding a means for the public to make a note of public events would be consistent with that approach.

Add an event to Google Map

You can add public events to Google Maps:
Note: Feature might not be available in some regions.

  1. From your Android phone or tablet, open Google Maps
  2. Tap the Contribute tab -> Events  -> Add a public event
  3. Follow the next steps.

How to edit an Event?

  1. From your Android phone or tablet, open Google Maps
  2. Go to the Contribute tab.
  3. Tap Events and select your event.
  4. Tap Edit this event and enter or change the details.
  5. Follow the next steps.

How to delete an  Event?

  1. From your Android phone or tablet, open Google Maps
  2. Go to the Contribute tab ->Events -> tap your event.
  3. Tap Edit this event -> Delete this event.
  4. Follow the next steps.
