Unlocking the Golem Ability

1.1 Reach Level 25

To unlock the ability to summon golems, your Necromancer character must first reach level 25. As you progress through the game, completing quests, and defeating enemies, you will naturally gain experience points to level up your character. Focus on advancing your Necromancer until you reach this specific level milestone.

1.2 Complete the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld Quest

Once you have reached level 25, a priority quest called Necromancer: Call of the Underworld will become available. This quest is essential for unlocking the ability to summon golems. To access the quest, open your Journal and navigate to the Priority Quests tab. Here, you should find the quest and have the option to track it, displaying the quest location on your map.

2.1 Locate the Shrine of Rathma

With the quest tracked, head to the map marker located northwest of Menestad. Here, you will discover the Shrine of Rathma, a sacred site dedicated to the god of necromancy. Upon arrival, you will encounter an NPC named Maltorius, who will play a central role in unlocking your golem summoning ability.

2.2 Collect 12 Unbroken Bones

After speaking with Maltorius, he will task you with collecting 12 Unbroken Bones. These items can be obtained by defeating nearby enemies that spawn in the vicinity of the Shrine. Once you have gathered all 12 Unbroken Bones, return to Maltorius at the altar.

2.3 Retrieve the Vile Artifact

Next, Maltorius will ask you to recover a vile artifact buried nearby. Follow the quest marker to a cave entrance located southeast of the Shrine of Rathma. Enter the cave and locate a large statue known as the Jar of Souls. Interact with the statue to begin the next phase of the quest.

2.4 Fill the Jar of Souls

Upon activating the Jar of Souls, you will need to defeat nearby enemies to fill the jar with souls. Keep an eye on the progress bar beneath the quest to know how many more souls are required. Once the jar is full, Maltorius will reappear next to the Jar of Souls to guide you through the final steps of the quest.

Types of Golems and Their Abilities

There are three main types of golems available for the Necromancer class in Diablo 4. Each type of golem has unique abilities and attributes that cater to different playstyles and strategies.

4.1 Bone Golem

The Bone Golem is the default golem unlocked after completing the Necromancer: Call of the Underworld quest. This golem acts as a taunting tank, drawing enemy attention and reducing its damage taken for six seconds. Bone Golems are ideal for players who require a sturdier ally to absorb damage on the battlefield.

4.2 Blood Golem

Upon reaching level 28, you can unlock the Blood Golem through the Book of the Dead. This golem takes damage on your behalf, acting as a protective shield for your Necromancer. This golem type is well-suited for players who prioritize their own survivability and prefer to keep enemies at bay.

4.3 Iron Golem

At level 32, Necromancers can unlock the Iron Golem, also through the Book of the Dead. Iron Golems excel at disrupting enemy formations, knocking enemies around and creating chaos on the battlefield. This golem is perfect for players who wish to disrupt enemy ranks and capitalize on the ensuing confusion.
