At the time where every smartphone manufacturer is coming up with their own Smart personal assistant for their smart device such as Siri for iOS devices, Bixby for all smartphones manufactured by Samsung, Google Now for its Pixels lineup. So which companies remain behind in following this trend?
It’s a Nokia and LG! Last year LG teamed up with Google to provide a dedicated hardware button for their few selected smartphones. Today Google has announced that now Nokia and LG would have dedicated Google Assistant buttons on all their new upcoming smartphone line ups.
As of now LG G8 ThinQ and K40, Nokia’s upcoming 3.2 and 4.2, Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 3 5G and Mi 9, as well as Vivo’s V15 Pro would be getting dedicated physical buttons for activating Google Assistant.
What’s Google Assistant?
Its a smart assistant developed by Google Inc through which you can do tons of tasks hands-free and can also play games of emojis. (I had to mention it as I mostly use Google Assistant for this only :P)
Is this good news?
Like you know guys I am using A Galaxy Note 8 and it does have a Bixby button which I have already disabled. I guess the introduction of such buttons might create problems for few users as these buttons get pressed accidentally and irritate the users.
What can be done?
According to me if these smartphone manufacturers instead of placing a button, put the feature of squeeze and activate assistant just like the Pixels have.
Do tell us if you would like a dedicated button just for your assistant or you want a dedicated button which can be remapped for another functionality.
