Last year, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note8 devices have the most awkward position of the fingerprint sensor. This year, Samsung fixed the issue of fingerprint sensor placement in Galaxy S9 and S9+ by putting it under the new verticle placement of camera sensors. The latest leaked images suggest that upcoming Galaxy Note9 will come with a horizontal camera setup same as Galaxy Note8 but repositioned fingerprint sensor. The reason behind this can be the battery.
Samsung launched Galaxy Note8 with 3300mAh battery which is smaller in size as compare to S8+. Samsung played safe with Galaxy Note8 after Note7 issue but this time Samsung can put 4000mAh battery in upcoming Galaxy Note9. If Samsung goes with vertical camera setup than space for the battery will be less because there should be separate space for S-Pen in Galaxy Note9. So we can see a horizontal camera setup in Galaxy Note9 with a larger battery.
