Financial Aid: How to get $3,000 in Direct Payments for a Year?

New proposals in Dallas seek to give $250 monthly payments to 325 low-income families.

According to Local Today, the Dallas City Council approved transferring at least $20 million to fund programs related to racial justice initiatives, including $1 million for this proposal.

Over 80 mayors across the country are part of an advocacy group called Mayors for a Guaranteed Income, which fights to fill poverty gaps in their communities.

In the COVID-19 pandemic, programs like this one provided financial security to many families and helped boost local economies.

The $20 million dollars for the initiatives in Dallas comes from sales tax carryovers in the budget for the fiscal year ending on September 30.

Other cities in Texas, such as Austin, San Antonio, and Houston also have similar kinds of programmes offering a year-long annual payment to low-income households.
