Twitter employees sued the company's new CEO, Elon Musk.

In a memo sent to staff Friday morning, it was revealed that Twitter's new head, Elon Musk, has begun laying off Twitter employees.

According to news reports, several Twitter employees filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk's Twitter.

The class action lawsuit filed alleges Twitter is in violation of the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN Act) after laying off some employees already.

The WARN Act requires that an employer with more than 100 employees provide 60 days’ advanced written notice prior to a mass layoff "affecting 50 or more employees at a single site of employment."

Twitter had around 7,500 employees before Musk’s takeover of the company.

According to many news reports, Twitter's new CEO, Elon Musk, had planned to lay off up to half of the company’s staff.
