Versatile Hollywood Actor Henry Silva died at 95
Henry Silva, the rugged New York actor who portrayed heavyweights and heroes of various ethnicities in a career, has died.
His son Scott Silva told The Hollywood Reporter that Silva died of natural causes Wednesday at Woodland Hills' Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital.
Silva played heavyweights and heroes of various ethnicities over the course of his career in New York.
Onetime Crimespree magazine writer Dave Wahlman wrote in 2016 that Henry Silva was one of those guys everyone recognizes even if they don't know his name.
He was born in Brooklyn on Sept. 15, 1926, and raised in Harlem. Before auditioning for The Actors Studio, he worked as a dishwasher, longshoreman, and in several other jobs.
Silva was married to Ruth Earl, and they had two sons, Michael and Scott.
