iPhone 15 Pro Max is getting a periscope lens
Apple's first periscope, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, will be released next year, but only on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The periscope will have a 6x magnification and a 12MP 1/3" sensor with sensor shift stabilisation, according to Kuo.
According to the expert, the iPhone will be the limelight in the periscope supply chain for the first time.
He noted that each periscope camera is expected to employ two prisms to reflect light and provide a longer light path for optical zoom.
"For the first time, Apple's lens supplier will provide more difficult assembly services," he added.
Apple is now collaborating with five suppliers to obtain the periscope lens and other features.
It's also likely that the lens will first be confined to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
According to Kuo, Apple will make it work, and both iPhone 16 Pro versions in 2024 will include a periscope.
The iPhone 14 series will be available later this year.
Only the Pro variants are likely to be updated to a 48MP primary camera.
