Early estimates put the box office

at a huge four-day opening of $129.2 million domestically.
It includes $109.5 million for the three days running.
In overseas markets, the movie is on track to earn more than $200 million by Sunday with a worldwide haul of $86 million.
On Friday alone, the movie brought in around $4
8 million from 4,400 theaters, including $10.8 million in previews.
For the pandemic era, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 held the record for the biggest opening for a PG family release with $72 million.
The Rise of Gru
is a sequel to 2015’s
Minions
and is the fifth entry in the
Despicable Me
franchise.
Families have returned to the multiplex in large numbers to watch this animated movie and love it.
