Shareef O'Neal, son of Shaq, to play in Los Angeles' summer league for the Laker

According to a report, the Los Angeles have signed Shaq's son Sharef to play for the Los Angeles' summer league team.

The Lakers worked out with O'Neal before the Draft, but he wasn't picked in either round and will now compete in Las Vegas next month.

O'Neal's career failed to take off at the collegiate level despite being a highly sought-after high school prospect.

O'Neal averaged just 2.6 points per game in his college career. He played just 129 minutes last season for LSU.

It will be hard for O'Neal to make it in the NBA.

It's fortunate for him that his father's old team is giving him the chance.
