Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost just made their first red carpet together in over a year. Here's who he is, how they met and their family.
On Sept. 25 the couple walked the New York Film Festival opening-night carpet for her film Paper Tiger, their first joint carpet since the 2025 Emmys.
Colin Jost, 44, grew up on Staten Island. He joined the Saturday Night Live writing staff in 2005 and is a two-time Primetime Emmy winner.
Since March 2014 he has co-anchored Weekend Update with Michael Che. He also co-hosted the 2018 Emmys and hosts Pop Culture Jeopardy!
Johansson has hosted SNL several times, and the show is where they got to know each other. They were first linked as a couple in May 2017.
After two years together, they got engaged in May 2019. Two months later she was on the Comic-Con stage in San Diego promoting Black Widow.
They married in October 2020 in a small ceremony at home in New York, then announced it through Meals on Wheels America, asking fans to donate.
Johansson's daughter Rose was born in 2014, during her marriage to Romain Dauriac. Son Cosmo arrived in August 2021: "Ok ok we had a baby," Jost wrote.
In May 2025 she premiered her first film as a director, Eleanor the Great, at Cannes. Jost walked the festival's red carpet with her that week.
Paper Tiger, James Gray's crime drama with Adam Driver and Miles Teller, opens in US theaters Nov. 13. She's also filming The Batman Part II for 2027.
They rarely do red carpets together, so this one got noticed. And Jost hit a milestone: the Sept. 26 SNL Season 52 premiere was his 250th episode.
