Genshin Impact 7.1 Release Date Is September 23, and Three Livestream Codes Give 300 Primogems

Genshin Impact Version 7.1 arrives on 23 September, and HoYoverse confirmed it during the Special Program that aired this morning at 8:00 AM EDT. Two new five-star characters, Vesna and Vodyanitsa, headline the first banner phase, and the broadcast handed out three redemption codes worth 300 Primogems in total.

The update lands on every platform the game runs on: Android, iOS, PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Server maintenance takes the game offline before it goes live, so the exact moment you can log in depends on which region your account sits on.

When is the Genshin Impact 7.1 release date on each server

Maintenance runs for roughly five hours and starts at a different local time on each of the three server clusters. The published windows are:

• America: 22 September, 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM (UTC-5)
• Europe: 23 September, 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM (UTC+1)
• Asia: 23 September, 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (UTC+8)

That means North American players get the patch late on the 22nd in their own time zone, even though HoYoverse calls it a 23 September update. Compensation Primogems for the downtime land in your in-game mail once servers are back.

The three 7.1 livestream codes and what they give

The codes dropped during the broadcast and are the usual short-window kind. Each carries 100 Primogems plus one extra item:

• Rekviem — 100 Primogems and 10 Mystic Enhancement Ore
• Vesna0923 — 100 Primogems and 5 Hero's Wit
• PrimaDonna — 100 Primogems and 50,000 Mora

All three expire on 15 September at 12:00 AM ET. That is under three days, and well before Version 7.1 itself goes live, so there is no point saving them. Redeem through Settings, then Account, then Redeem Now inside the game, or through the official web redemption page if you play on console. Rewards arrive in your mailbox, not your inventory.

300 Primogems is not quite two Wishes. It is a small top-up rather than a pull budget, and the same account-wide limit applies as always: one redemption each, no matter how many devices you sign in from. Vesna, Vodyanitsa and the Phase 2 reruns

Phase 1 runs from 23 September to 13 October and debuts both new five-stars on separate banners rather than sharing one. Vesna is an Anemo sword user built around Stellar-Swirl reactions. Vodyanitsa is a Hydro catalyst wielder positioned as a healer and support unit.

Phase 2 runs from 13 October to 3 November and brings back two Cryo units: Skirk and Escoffier. Running both debuts up front and stacking the reruns at the back is a shift from the split HoYoverse used in the 7.0 Phase 2 banner rotation, where a debut anchored each half.

Constellation and weapon banner details were not fully broken down on stream. Treat anything circulating about exact four-star line-ups or signature weapon stats as unconfirmed until the in-game banner pages go live on the 23rd.

What else is in Version 7.1

The patch continues the Snezhnaya arc, with the Tsaritsa's conflict with Celestia moving forward and a new boss fight against Ronova. The 2026 edition of Liyue's Moonchase Festival returns as a limited-time event, and anniversary rewards bring free pulls and a character selector.

HoYoverse did not announce a download size on stream. Recent Genshin patches have run in the 3GB to 5GB range on phones, and if you want a comparison point from the same studio, Honkai Star Rail 4.5 measured 3.9GB on Android and iOS against 7.4GB on PC. Clear the space before maintenance ends rather than after.
