Endgame is going back on the big screen with footage nobody has seen. Here is the date, the new runtime, and what the fresh ending sets up.
It is not a straight replay. Disney has retitled the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame Encore and rebuilt it with extra material for one theatrical run.
Endgame Encore opens on September 25, 2026. It is a limited run, timed to land just under three months before the next Avengers film arrives.
The Encore cut runs 185 minutes. The 2019 release ran 181, so roughly four minutes of new material has been folded into the film.
A specially made introduction plays first, so the film no longer drops you straight into the 2019 opening scene.
A special end tag closes the film. Joe and Anthony Russo have confirmed it leads directly into Avengers: Doomsday.
The new introduction and the end tag are exclusive to IMAX and Infinity Vision screenings. A standard auditorium will not show them.
Disney's new premium large-format badge: screens at least 45 feet wide, laser projection and immersive audio. Encore is the first film to carry it.
Avengers: Doomsday lands December 18, 2026. The Russo brothers direct, and Robert Downey Jr. returns to the MCU as the villain Doctor Doom.
Its $1.2 billion debut in 2019 made it the first film ever to open past a billion worldwide. Its US opening record fell to Spider-Man: Brand New Day in August.
September 25 for the Encore cut, December 18 for Doomsday. If you want the new intro and that end tag, book IMAX or Infinity Vision.
