Season 35 opens across two nights on ABC with 16 new celebrities. Here are 9 things to know before the second half of the premiere.
The season opens Tuesday, Sept. 15 and continues Wednesday, Sept. 16, both at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Each couple dances on only one of them.
Both nights air live on ABC and stream live on Disney+ in local time zones. Episodes land on Hulu the next day if you miss the live show.
The male celebrities danced on night one. The women take the floor on night two, so the full cast is only seen after both episodes air.
Premiere week has a theme: every couple dances to a No. 1 hit from the celebrity's birth year. Expect a wide spread of decades.
ABC has said premiere week ends in a double elimination: one male celebrity goes after night one, one female celebrity after night two.
Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough judge again. Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough host. The prize is the Mirrorball Trophy.
Julia Stiles, Jenna Dewan, Tatyana Ali and Harry Shum Jr. bring 10 Things I Hate About You, Step Up, Fresh Prince and Glee to the ballroom.
Food Network's Giada De Laurentiis, Hanson frontman Taylor Hanson and Jimmy Kimmel Live sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez are all competing.
Figure skater Amber Glenn, Paralympic track star Ezra Frech and Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson bring trained bodies to the floor.
Once premiere week ends, the remaining couples compete week after week until one of them lifts the Mirrorball Trophy.
