Born on a Trip to Sweden

Swift said she flew to Sweden to celebrate with Max Martin and Shellback, her Showgirl co-writers. They found a studio and did what they always do: wrote more songs.

Patient Zero's Warning

The lead single casts Swift as the first person hurt by a toxic ex and warns whoever comes next. She says a chat with friends about an ex's new girlfriend sparked it.

A Star-Studded Video

Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell star in the Patient Zero video, which Swift directed herself. It premieres at the MTV VMAs on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Cleveland! Is for Travis

Track two is a love song to husband Travis Kelce. The chorus says he took her to Cleveland and showed her The Heights, a nod to his Cleveland Heights hometown.

Hate All You Like

Instead of firing back, Swift playfully agrees with her critics. The last chorus nods to her July 3 wedding: she's wearing white now, and he's the love of her life.

Pink Clouding's Apology

Pink clouding means a rush of early euphoria. Swift looks back on a rebound fling and apologizes to someone she let down. Fans are guessing Tom Hiddleston.

Babylon's Cautionary Tale

The closer follows a man who trades his small town for a dazzling life, then can't stop looking back. It ends with him alone in his car as his family hangs Christmas lights.
