The same announcement went one step further: the series has already been renewed for a third season, currently slated for 2028. That is unusually early confidence from a platform that has been quick to cancel animated shows, and it means the story Mizu started is not going to be cut short mid-arc.

The teaser makes the shift visually obvious — the autumnal palette of Edo-period Japan gives way to industrial greys and brick reds, with tavern interiors and European character designs the first season never needed.
