Crossplay Games on Mobile (2026): Same Match, Same Save, or a Different Game

The phone games that share a real match with a computer are Minecraft (the Bedrock app), Fortnite, Teamfight Tactics, Diablo Immortal, Brawlhalla, Stumble Guys, Hearthstone, and Marvel Snap. Old School RuneScape uses one account on the same worlds as desktop. Wild Rift does not join a League of Legends match on PC. Call of Duty: Mobile does not replace Warzone. Warzone Mobile's servers went offline on April 17, 2026. Age of Empires Mobile and Guild Wars Reforged also share a PC match, and both of those links shipped in 2026.

Crossplay means people on different devices are in one match. Cross-save means your progress follows your account, which is a different promise. Phone-to-phone (Android and iPhone) is a third, smaller promise. We read US Google Play listings on October 27, 2026, and publisher pages for the games that are not normal Play apps. Wikipedia's cross-platform play page is the plain definition.

Who you are trying to play with

• A friend on Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch, in Minecraft: the phone app. It is Bedrock. Java Edition on a computer will not see you. $6.99, 4.30 stars from 5,870,098 ratings.
• A Fortnite friend on console or PC: the Epic Games Store on the phone, not a normal Play listing. Epic says Fortnite on mobile is the full game, with cross-platform play.
• A Teamfight Tactics friend on PC: the TFT app, same Riot account. Riot says this works in most countries.
• A Diablo friend on PC: Diablo Immortal. The listing says seamless cross-platform play on mobile and PC. This is not Diablo IV.
• A Hearthstone or Marvel Snap friend: the same app name on both screens. Both listings say mobile and PC.
• A League of Legends friend on PC: you cannot. Wild Rift is a different game.

Three words that get mixed on purpose

• Crossplay: you and a friend are in the same match, on different kinds of devices.
• Cross-save, or cross-progression: you sign in and your stuff is there. You might still be unable to invite that friend into this mode.
• Android and iPhone together: many phone games do this and still have no PC version. Clash of Clans and Brawl Stars are in that group. Their listings talk about online players. They do not mention a PC match.

The listing, or the publisher, says it is one match

Minecraft

• Google Play: Minecraft, $6.99 · Everyone 10+ · 4.30 from 5,870,098 ratings · 50M+ downloads · no ads label · purchases · Updated October 21, 2026. Listing.
• The listing says cross-platform play with Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, and Realms for up to 10 friends.
• Mojang's own chart says Bedrock cross-play includes Windows, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and mobile. Java Edition cross-play is Windows, Mac, and Linux. The phone app is not Java. Minecraft's edition chart.
• Watch: console friends may need that platform's online membership. The chart says so.

Fortnite and Fall Guys

• Fortnite.com says you can play on Android worldwide, and on iPhone and iPad in the European Union, through the Epic Games Store. It also lists cloud gaming. Fortnite mobile.
• Epic's help page says only Fortnite and Fall Guys are mobile versions of the full game, with cross-platform play and account progression. Other Epic purchases stay on the platform where you bought them. Epic's note.
• Watch: a US Play search for Fall Guys put Stumble Guys first. Fall Guys on a phone is the Epic path Epic described, not that Play result.

Teamfight Tactics, Diablo Immortal, Hearthstone, Marvel Snap

• Teamfight Tactics: free · 4.15 from 765,853 ratings · no ads label · Updated October 17, 2026. Riot says that in most countries the phone game shares inventory, progression, and rank with PC, and the rules stay the same. Region limits exist. Riot's update. More on the mode: auto battler games.
• Diablo Immortal: free · Mature 17+ · 4.71 from 2,087,263 ratings · no ads label · purchases · Updated October 21, 2026. The listing says seamless cross-platform play across mobile and PC. Listing.
• Hearthstone: free · 4.11 from 2,027,437 ratings · Updated October 23, 2026. The listing says you play online across mobile and PC, with the collection synced, and it names Battlegrounds.
• Marvel Snap: free · 3.46 from 490,516 ratings · no ads label · purchases · Updated October 14, 2026. The listing says cross-platform play, and it says you can play the deck on PC or mobile. The score is under 4 from a large count. The cross-play line is still on the page. Listing.

Brawlhalla, Stumble Guys, Sky, Old School RuneScape

• Brawlhalla: free · 4.39 from 348,836 ratings · 10M+ downloads · no ads label · purchases · Updated October 15, 2026. The listing says full cross-play. Listing.
• Stumble Guys: free · 4.74 from 6,923,280 ratings · 100M+ downloads · ads and purchases · Updated September 19, 2026. The listing says cross-play on Steam and mobile. Listing.
• Sky: Children of the Light: free · 4.54 from 1,169,647 ratings · no ads label · Updated October 15, 2026. The listing has a line, "Cross-platform play. Your friends are here, whatever they're playing on."
• Old School RuneScape: free · Teen · 4.10 from 137,897 ratings · 5M+ downloads · purchases · Updated October 8, 2026. The listing says one account on mobile and desktop, on the same game worlds. That is a shared world, which is the MMO version of one match. Listing.

Same account, as the publisher describes it

HoYoverse's help page is about progress, not a sentence that says every mode is a shared lobby. Use the same account. Then test one invite before you plan a night around it. HoYoverse's sync page says:

• Genshin Impact: cross-save on PC, iPhone, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox. The Play score is 3.31 from 5,243,258 ratings. Updated September 10, 2026. No ads label. Purchases.
• Honkai: Star Rail: progression on PC, iPhone, Android, and PlayStation. 3.67 from 525,567 ratings. Updated September 17, 2026.
• Zenless Zone Zero: cross-save on PC, iPhone, Android, PlayStation, and Xbox. 3.06 from 168,409 ratings. Updated October 3, 2026.
• Honkai Impact 3rd: phone and PC can sync. The PlayStation version uses separate servers and does not share that save. 3.97 from 458,162 ratings.

Those four scores are all under 4. The account fact and the score are separate. A low score does not remove the save. It does tell you the Android build has a lot of unhappy reviews.

Roblox is on the phone (4.23 from 53,314,250 ratings, updated October 22, 2026). The Play text we read describes online multiplayer. Sign in with the same Roblox account you use on a computer. We are not quoting a cross-play sentence the listing did not put in the section we read.

Same name, different game

• Wild Rift is not League on PC. A Wild Rift FAQ, reposted with Riot's answers, says no: the games were rebuilt, and cross-play with PC League would break the match. Unlocks do not come with you. That FAQ. The Play app is 3.24 stars from 2,454,486 ratings. Updated September 13, 2026.
• Call of Duty: Mobile is not Warzone and not console Call of Duty. The listing we read does not say it shares a match with them. It is its own free app: 4.26 from 16,576,245 ratings, ads and purchases, updated September 1, 2026. More phone battle royales: battle royale games.
• PUBG Mobile did not say PC cross-play in the listing text we read. 4.32 from 48,725,289 ratings. Do not promise a PC PUBG friend a seat in this app.
• Among Us describes online play and local Wi-Fi for 4 to 15 players. The sentences we read do not say PC. The score is 3.93 from 13,673,188 ratings, with ads and purchases. Ask the friend which store they installed before you count on a lobby.
• Human Fall Flat ($4.99, 3.82 from 30,896 ratings) says online play for up to 4 players. It does not say those players can be on PC.
• Wuthering Waves, Once Human, and Tower of Fantasy are popular, updated in October 2026, and their listing text did not give us a cross-play sentence. We will not invent one. Wuthering Waves is 4.38 from 527,421 ratings. Once Human is 4.54 from 117,238. Tower of Fantasy is 3.46 from 172,064, and it shows ads.
• Clash of Clans (4.51 from 61,285,532 ratings) and Brawl Stars (4.19 from 26,154,509) are huge phone games. The listings describe other players online. They do not describe a PC client. Android and iPhone is the usual Supercell case. PC is not.
• Rocket League Sideswipe did not show up as an official app in the top US Play results we searched. It is a different product from Rocket League on console. Do not buy one and expect the other's garage.

Phone versions that already ended

• Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Activision says the servers went offline on April 17, 2026. The app left the stores in May 2025. Activision points phone players to Call of Duty: Mobile, and points everyone else to Warzone on PC and console. Those are different games. Activision's notice.
• Apex Legends Mobile. Servers shut down on May 1, 2023. The PC and console game kept going. The shutdown date.
• Dead by Daylight Mobile. The official notice dated December 18, 2024 says service ended March 20, 2025, and the app left stores on January 16, 2025. Dead by Daylight on PC and console is the game that remained. The notice.

2026 crossplay the older lists miss

Two publisher pages from this summer change the list. The Play scores are mixed. The cross-play lines are not rumors.

• Age of Empires Mobile. Free on Play, Teen, no ads label, purchases, 4.12 stars from 468,251 ratings, 10M+ downloads, updated September 24, 2026. World's Edge says the PC Edition, on Steam and the Microsoft Store, has seamless cross-play with the phone game, and that one bound account keeps your progress. Age of Empires FAQ. Play listing.
• Guild Wars Reforged. The Play listing says full cross-play and cross-progression. ArenaNet's June 15, 2026 post says phone and PC share Tyria. The Android score is 3.85 from 3,454 ratings, and the listing shows ads and purchases. The feature is real. The port's score is the warning. ArenaNet's post.

Names people type, and what the Android page actually says

• Roblox is the app groups already share. 4.23 stars from 53,314,250 ratings, updated October 22, 2026, no ads label, purchases. There is a phone app, a computer app, and console apps, and you sign in with one account. Controls and chat rules change by experience. We did not find the words "cross-play" in the opening of the Play description.
• Among Us is sold on Android, iPhone, PC, and consoles. The Android listing we read only says online play or local Wi-Fi, for 4 to 15 players. It does not say PC in that text. The score is 3.93 from 13,673,186 ratings, with ads and purchases. Use it if the whole group already has it. Do not promise a stranger the listing proved a PC seat.
• Warframe on Android has 3.99 stars from 31,457 ratings, no ads label, purchases, updated September 5, 2026. The description we read does not say cross-play. A 3.99 from that many ratings is why it is not a pick, even though the PC game is famous.
• Disney Speedstorm is on Play at 4.32 stars from 45,623 ratings, updated October 15, 2026, no ads label, purchases. The description we read is about racing. It does not say the phone lobby is the PC lobby.

How to check before you invite someone

1. Say the device out loud. "You are on a PS5, I am on a phone." If the game is not in the same-match list above, assume it will fail.
2. Use the same account type the publisher named. Microsoft for Minecraft Bedrock. Riot for TFT. HoYoverse for Genshin. Epic for Fortnite.
3. Minecraft: ask if they launched Java or Bedrock. The phone cannot join Java.
4. Wild Rift, COD Mobile, and PUBG Mobile: stop. They are popular. They are not the PC game with the similar name.
5. If the listing is silent, do not promise the night. Wuthering Waves and Once Human are in that bucket until their own pages say otherwise.

Your next step

If the friend is on a console and you both want Minecraft, buy the phone app and make sure they are on Bedrock. If the friend is in Fortnite, use Epic's mobile store, not a random Play app with Fortnite in the title. If the friend is in League on PC, tell them Wild Rift will not work and pick a game from the same-match list instead.
