13 Games Like Clash of Clans (2026), Starting With Boom Beach

Updated
Boom Beach, the closest Supercell game like Clash of Clans

The closest game to Clash of Clans is Boom Beach, made by the same studio, Supercell. You build a base, scout someone else’s, attack it, and wait on upgrade timers. If you want that loop from a different developer, DomiNations and Castle Clash are the next best fits. Rise of Kingdoms, Lords Mobile and Call of Dragons show up on every list too, but they’re kingdom MMOs on a shared map, which is a much bigger time commitment. Clash Royale is a card game.

We rechecked every listing on the US Google Play Store on October 23, 2026. Clash of Clans sits at 4.5 stars from 61.3 million ratings, with 500M+ installs and an update on October 20. Its in-app purchases run from $0.29 to $239.99 per item. That top number isn’t the highest here: Rise of Kingdoms lists items up to $499.99, and Call of Dragons goes up to $394.93. We list each game’s range so you know what the shop looks like before you install.

Three kinds of “games like Clash of Clans”

Most lists mix three different genres under one heading. Knowing which one you actually want saves you a few wasted installs.

  • Base builders with raids. You own a village, other players attack it, and you attack theirs. Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, DomiNations and Castle Clash. This is the real match.
  • Kingdom MMOs. Everyone shares one world map. You march armies, join an alliance and play in seasons. Rise of Kingdoms, Call of Dragons, Lords Mobile, Age of Empires Mobile, Last War and Whiteout Survival. They look similar in ads, but they ask for far more daily time.
  • City builders. Same satisfying building and upgrading, with little or no PvP pressure. Forge of Empires, Elvenar and Supercell’s own Hay Day.

How we picked

  • We started with the games that show up again and again when people search for Clash of Clans alternatives, then sorted them by how closely the core loop matches.
  • For each game we pulled the US Play Store listing on October 23, 2026: rating, number of ratings, installs, last update, the “Contains ads” label and the in-app purchase range.
  • Ratings, prices and the ads label change often. Treat the numbers as a snapshot and check the listing before you spend money.
  • One detail most lists skip: Clash of Clans’ own Play description says some items can be bought for real money “including random items,” and its content rating carries the “In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items)” label. Supercell suggests turning off in-app purchases in your device settings if you don’t want to spend. That’s worth knowing before you hand the phone to a kid.

Games like Clash of Clans

1. Boom Beach: the closest match

Developer: Supercell | Ads: Yes | IAP: $0.99–$199.99 | Updated: Oct 1, 2026 | Rating: 4.4 from 6.25M | Installs: 100M+

Boom Beach swaps the village for an island archipelago. You still build defenses and scout enemy bases, but attacks work differently: you land troops from boats and back them up with gunboat artillery. Task Forces let you team up with other players to take down bigger bases, which fills the role clans play in Clash.

The main difference you’ll notice on Play is the “Contains ads” label. Clash of Clans doesn’t carry it.

Best for: Clash players who want the same hobby on a new map. Skip it if: you were hoping for something less grindy. It uses the same timer-based upgrades.

2. DomiNations: Clash of Clans through the ages

Developer: Big Huge Games | Ads: Yes | IAP: $0.99–$199.99 | Updated: Oct 16, 2026 | Rating: 4.3 from 817K | Installs: 10M+

DomiNations is the game we’d point most Clash players to after Boom Beach. You build a town, train an army and raid other players, but your nation also advances through historical ages. Wonders and the University give your upgrades a little more strategy than Clash’s straight Town Hall climb. Alliances and wars are here too.

Best for: anyone who wants the Clash loop with a history theme. Skip it if: ads in a strategy game bother you.

3. Castle Clash: World Ruler: base building with heroes

Developer: IGG | Ads: Yes | IAP: $0.99–$99.99 | Updated: Oct 9, 2026 | Rating: 4.4 from 5.02M | Installs: 100M+

Castle Clash has been around for over a decade, and it still plays like a mix of Clash of Clans and a hero collector. You build and defend a castle, but much of your power comes from the heroes you recruit and level up. Guild modes give it a social side.

Best for: players who like collecting and upgrading characters. Skip it if: you want Clash’s clean, simple troop system.

4. Clash of Clans: stay if your clan is still active

Rating: 4.5 from 61.3M | Updated: Oct 20, 2026 | Ads: No | IAP: $0.29–$239.99 | Installs: 500M+

If your clan is still active, a new game probably won’t replace it. Clash keeps getting regular updates, and you never need the $239.99 packs to raid. This list is mainly for people whose clan went quiet or who want a second base to play on the side.

5. Clash Royale: same characters, different game

Rating: 4.4 from 41.8M | Updated: Oct 6, 2026 | Ads: No | IAP: $0.29–$239.99 | Installs: 500M+

Clash Royale borrows the Clash cast but plays nothing like it. Matches last a few minutes: you build a deck, spend elixir to drop units into two lanes and try to knock down the other player’s towers. There’s no base to build or defend. Plenty of people install it because the icon looks familiar, so it’s worth knowing that going in.

Best for: quick matches on a commute. Skip it if: building your base was the fun part. For more deck games, see our best card games list.

6. Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade: the big kingdom MMO

Developer: LilithGames | Rating: 4.5 from 2.55M | Ads: Yes | IAP: $0.29–$499.99 | Updated: Sep 16, 2026 | Installs: 50M+

Rise of Kingdoms puts every player on one huge map. You pick a civilization, level commanders, march armies and fight with your alliance through long kingdom seasons. It’s deep, but it isn’t a quick five-minute raid. Active alliances expect you to show up for events. Its $499.99 top item is the highest ceiling on this page.

Best for: players who want alliance warfare on a big map. Skip it if: you liked Clash because you could play casually.

7. Call of Dragons: fantasy kingdom MMO

Developer: FARLIGHT | Rating: 4.5 from 194K | Ads: No | IAP: $0.99–$394.93 | Updated: Oct 15, 2026 | Installs: 10M+

Call of Dragons plays a lot like Rise of Kingdoms with a fantasy setting: an open map, heroes, flying units and alliance territory fights. The rating is solid. The shop is the thing to watch, with single items listed up to $394.93, so set up purchase authentication in Google Play before you start.

Best for: Rise of Kingdoms fans who prefer dragons to history. Skip it if: big shop prices put you off.

8. Lords Mobile: Kingdom Wars

Developer: IGG | Rating: 4.5 from 9.18M | Ads: No | IAP: $0.99–$299.99 | Updated: Oct 20, 2026 | Installs: 500M+

Lords Mobile is one of the biggest kingdom games on Play, with 500M+ installs. You build a castle, collect heroes and fight in guild wars on a shared map. It’s polished and very active, but it’s a long grind, closer to Rise of Kingdoms than to Clash.

9. Last War: Survival Game: a base builder with a survival theme

Developer: FUNFLY | Rating: 4.6 from 2.05M | Ads: No | IAP: $0.99–$99.99 | Updated: Oct 20, 2026 | Installs: 100M+

Last War has the highest rating of the live-service games here. Underneath the military and zombie theme, it’s still base upgrades, squads and alliance fights on a shared map. If you want a single-player zombie game instead, our zombie survival list is a better fit.

10. Whiteout Survival: the frozen-city version

Developer: Century Games | Rating: 4.1 from 1.58M | Ads: No | IAP: $0.99–$99.99 | Updated: Oct 14, 2026 | Installs: 100M+

Whiteout Survival is a similar setup in a snowbound world: keep your city warm, grow it and team up with an alliance. Its 4.1 rating is one of the lower ones on this list, so it’s mostly worth it if your friends already play.

11. Forge of Empires: a slow city builder through history

Developer: InnoGames | Rating: 4.2 from 1.13M | Ads: Yes | IAP: $0.99–$199.99 | Updated: Oct 21, 2026 | Installs: 10M+

Forge of Empires takes a city from the Stone Age toward the far future. Battles are turn-based on a hex grid instead of Clash’s drop-and-watch raids, and progress comes from research and planning your city’s layout. It’s a good choice if you liked the building more than the attacking.

12. Elvenar: a fantasy city builder without the raid stress

Developer: InnoGames | Rating: 4.2 from 172K | Ads: No | IAP: $0.99–$199.99 | Updated: Oct 22, 2026 | Installs: 5M+

In Elvenar you build a city of elves or humans and grow it at your own pace. It’s the calmest pick here, and a good fit if you liked decorating your Clash village more than defending it.

13. Hay Day: Supercell without the fighting

Developer: Supercell | Rating: 4.4 from 13.1M | Ads: Yes | IAP: $0.29–$239.99 | Updated: Oct 16, 2026 | Installs: 100M+

Hay Day comes from the same studio and has the same polish, but it’s a farm game. You grow crops, fill orders and trade with neighbors. There’s no combat at all.

Often suggested, but not really like Clash

  • Unciv, Polytopia, XCOM 2: proper strategy games you can play offline. They’re on our strategy list.
  • Clash Mini: Supercell shut it down before a global launch. Skip any APK that claims to be it.
  • Brawl Stars: same studio, but it’s a fast arena shooter.
  • Tower defense games: if defending was your favorite part, try our tower defense list.
  • City builders without PvP: see our city building games list.

How to pick

  1. Is your clan still active? Then stay in Clash of Clans. The people are hard to replace.
  2. Want the same raids on a new map? Install Boom Beach, then DomiNations.
  3. Want short matches? Try Clash Royale, but expect a card game.
  4. Want a bigger war with an alliance? Rise of Kingdoms or Lords Mobile. Check the IAP ceiling first.
  5. Want building without the attacks? Elvenar, Forge of Empires or Hay Day.
  6. Want turn-based strategy you can play offline? Head to our strategy games list.

Whatever you pick, turn on purchase authentication in Google Play (Settings > Authentication) so nobody can buy a pack by accident.

Bottom line

For the closest experience, play Boom Beach. For the same loop from another studio, try DomiNations or Castle Clash. If your clan is still active, stick with Clash of Clans. The kingdom MMOs are good games, but they ask for more time, and their shops go higher.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the closest game to Clash of Clans?

Boom Beach, from the same studio, Supercell. You build a base, scout enemy bases and raid them, with Task Forces in place of clans. Unlike Clash of Clans, its Play listing carries the "Contains ads" label.

What games are like Clash of Clans but from other developers?

DomiNations (Big Huge Games) and Castle Clash: World Ruler (IGG) are the closest. Both have base building and raids on other players. DomiNations adds historical ages, and Castle Clash adds collectible heroes.

Is Clash Royale like Clash of Clans?

Not really. Clash Royale uses the same characters, but it's a real-time card battler with short matches and no base to build. If you want a village to grow and defend, try Boom Beach or DomiNations instead.

Is Rise of Kingdoms like Clash of Clans?

Only loosely. Rise of Kingdoms is a kingdom MMO where everyone shares one map and alliances fight through long seasons. It asks for more daily time than Clash, and its Play listing shows ads and items up to $499.99.

Which game like Clash of Clans has no raids on your base?

Elvenar, Forge of Empires and Supercell's Hay Day focus on building rather than raiding. Elvenar is the calmest of the three.
