Game Pass October Games: Battlefield 6 Joins on the 13th, and Clair Obscur Leaves on the 15th
Microsoft has named the first wave of Game Pass October games, and the biggest addition is Battlefield 6, which lands on 13 October for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Nine titles arrive between 8 and 16 October on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, while nine more leave on 15 October, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
The tier split is lopsided this time. Eight of the nine new games are Ultimate and PC Game Pass only. If you pay for Premium, one new game is coming your way this fortnight. Essential members get an in-game perk and nothing else.
Which Game Pass October games arrive, and on which tiers
Seven of the nine are day-one launches, meaning they release on the service the same day they go on sale.

- Forever Ago — 8 October on cloud, console and PC. Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Day one.
- Neon Abyss 2 — 8 October on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. The only new arrival on Premium.
- Battlefield 6 — 13 October on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
- Deep Dish Dungeon — 13 October on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Day one.
- Valor Mortis — 13 October on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Day one.
- Bluey's Happy Snaps — 15 October on cloud, console, handheld and PC. Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Day one.
- Chained Beasts — 15 October on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Day one.
- Beyond These Stars — 16 October on PC only. Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Day one.
One platform note matters. Beyond These Stars has no console or cloud version, so Ultimate members who only play on an Xbox cannot run it. Valor Mortis and Bluey's Happy Snaps carry Xbox's handheld tag, which marks games optimised for handheld PCs.
How Battlefield 6 works on Game Pass
Battlefield 6 came out in October 2025, so this is a catalogue addition almost a year after launch rather than a day-one drop. It arrives through EA Play, which is bundled with both Ultimate and PC Game Pass. That is why it is missing from Premium and Essential.
Xbox says EA Play members can unlock an EA Play Deployment Pack, claim the Season 5 EA Play Pack and earn recurring seasonal rewards. Ultimate subscribers also get 10% off eligible EA digital purchases. If you already own the game, none of this changes your copy, but the seasonal packs are still claimable through the membership. What is leaving Game Pass on 15 October
Nine games drop out on 15 October. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the one most people will notice. It has been on the service since its April 2025 launch, and it is a long RPG, so anyone mid-campaign has about a week left.

Your saves are not deleted when a game leaves. If you buy the game later, cloud saves pick up where you stopped. Game Pass members also get a member discount on titles before they leave, which Xbox flags for this batch without stating a percentage.
What else is already on Game Pass this month
Three recent additions are live now: Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons II and Shape of Dreams. Gears and Minecraft Dungeons II are Ultimate and PC Game Pass only. On the perks side, Asphalt Legends members on every tier, including Essential, can claim a Ford GT MKII, 250 tokens and 250,000 credits starting today on cloud, console and PC.
For comparison, last month's opening batch was heavier on Premium: most of the September Game Pass wave with Black Ops Cold War landed on that tier, Call of Duty included. Xbox usually announces a second October wave in the second half of the month, but has not dated it yet.
