What the Shape of Dreams v1.4 update adds

The developer's patch notes list these as the main additions:

Cetus, a new Traveler. He fights at range, building up Cold to deal burst damage. He can also drop glaciers and icy zones to slow enemies, and he can shield himself and his teammates. You unlock him by digging through Piles of Snow.
The Way of Stars. The old Traveler Mastery system has been expanded. As you play each character, story episodes unlock one by one, along with illustrations, limited emotes and a Souvenir for each Traveler.
The Starless Path ending. If you progress far enough through The Way of Stars, a new route opens with a stronger final boss.
Six shared Identity Memories that any Traveler can swap in.
Harder boss patterns. Some World Bosses now use tougher attacks from Ominous Dream difficulty upward, including Nightmare and Limbo.
Six new Artifacts that the developer says drop only through "special methods", plus a Unique Memory and Unique Banner for the Starving Beast boss.
New cosmetics: 11 costumes, 11 emotes and a Mini Cetus Souvenir.

Every existing Traveler also gets new Flexible Stars. Shell gets the most with seven, Lacerta gets three, Mist and Yubar get two each, and Vesper, Aurena, Bismuth and Nachia get one each.

Balance changes and bug fixes worth knowing

Shell's kit changes the most. Annihilation Stance now lets you cast other Memories while it is active, but it no longer adds Dodge charges or Memory Haste. Those bonuses have moved to the Frenzied Blade Dance Star, which in exchange cuts Sword Wave damage by 60% and its range by 80%. If your Shell build depends on Annihilation Stance, expect it to play differently.

Other changes players will notice:

Beam of Balance damage rises from 350% to 460% AP and healing from 150% to 200% AP, but the beam now lasts 6 seconds instead of 8.
Yubar's Supernova now refills every Dodge charge instead of just one.
Mist's Lunge cooldown drops from 7 to 6 seconds, and Priorité no longer has a cooldown.
Summoning a Leaf Hound with Nachia's Sylvan Call now deals 200% AP instead of 130%.
In co-op, enemies now spawn faster when more players are in the match. From the second loop onward, the number of monsters on screen at once is capped.
A bug that made some bosses use only basic attacks has been fixed, and so has Lacerta's Special Operations cooldown reset, which did not work before.

The studio also says overall performance and stability are "significantly improved", but it gave no frame-rate figures.
