Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.7 Lands September 1: 15.26GB on Xbox, 1.53GB on PS5

Aditya Singh

Ubisoft is releasing Title Update 1.0.7 for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on 1 September at 14:00 UTC, and the download size swings hard depending on your platform: 15.26GB on Xbox Series X and Series S, but only 1.53GB on PlayStation 5. PC players pull 3.86GB through Ubisoft Connect or 2GB on Steam.

The headline additions are small quality-of-life switches rather than new content. Edward can now holster his pistols out of sight, trinket perk effects can be turned off entirely, and there is a rescuable animal hidden somewhere in the Caribbean that will move into the Hideout once you find it.

How big is the Black Flag Resynced update 1.0.7 download

Ubisoft published the sizes per platform, and the Xbox figure is the one to plan storage around:

  • Xbox Series X|S: 15.26GB
  • PlayStation 5: 1.53GB
  • PC (Ubisoft Connect): 3.86GB
  • PC (Steam): 2GB

That Xbox number is not a one-off. Update 1.0.6 was 15.2GB on Xbox and 1.0.4 was 15.35GB, so the console has been re-downloading a large chunk of the game with each patch while PS5 owners get a fraction of it. If your Series X is close to full, clear the space before the servers flip over. Console storage math is worth doing in advance — the same problem hit Bethesda players when Skyrim's 1.7.99 update raised console mod storage to 15GB.

The rollout time is a single global unlock: 14:00 UTC, which is 10:00 a.m. EST and 7:00 a.m. PST on 1 September.

What update 1.0.7 actually adds

Three things, all of them responses to player feedback. Edward's pistols can now be hidden from his outfit, following the same treatment the blowpipe got in update 1.0.6. Trinkets keep their perks but you can now switch off the glow they attach to Edward, which had been a common complaint from players running heavily buffed loadouts.

The third is a new animal companion. Ubisoft is being coy about the location, saying only that a "furry friend" needs rescuing somewhere across the Caribbean and will join you at the Hideout afterwards. It is the second pet added to the Hideout since launch.

The bug fixes worth knowing about

The gameplay list is long. A few of the fixes address problems that could genuinely block progress:

  • Players falling through the world when fast travelling to Principe
  • The Padre's questline vanishing after changing graphics settings
  • Regions not revealing after a fort is completed and synchronised to 100%
  • Enemy ships spawning outside the map during quests, and target ships behaving erratically
  • Enemies rising from the dead after a smoke bomb was thrown at them
  • Edward being unable to assassinate enemies investigating the haystack he was hiding in
  • Edward getting stuck in a loop breaking down a fort's War Room door

There is also a batch of stability work: crashes when opening the Store or News panel, crashes on the Kenway's Fleet ship selection menu, and a rare PS5 crash triggered by going out of bounds. Save-file fixes cover missing music after loading and Stede Bonnet disappearing from older saves made before buying the British cutlasses.

Accessibility and Steam Deck changes

Ubisoft fixed multiple colour-blindness problems in the red-green and blue-yellow presets, restored missing menu narration and repaired missing gameplay captions. On the platform-specific side, turning HDR on could cause a black screen on Steam Deck — that is fixed in 1.0.7.

Visually, the patch cleans up parkour and assassination animation glitches, stops the ship lift from glowing after Eagle Vision, and stops the blowpipe reappearing after harpooning even when you had chosen to hide it. Patches of this shape — small feature toggles bundled with a long crash list — have been the pattern across recent console releases, including Nioh 3's update 2.00.02 save fix.

No New Game+ in this patch

Ubisoft teased New Game+ when the game passed three million copies sold earlier this month, saying adventures would continue with the mode "later on". It is not in 1.0.7, and the studio has given no date for it. Treat any specific New Game+ timing you see circulating as unconfirmed until Ubisoft posts it.

A quest-fix section at the end of the notes carries story spoilers, covering fixes to Upton Travers, Everything Is Permitted, The Sage's Buried Secret, The Final Contract and Vainglorious Bastards, plus an exploit in Right-Hand Man that let players complete the objective without doing anything.

PlayStation owners have a busy few days ahead: the patch lands the same week as Sony's State of Play on 3 September, and days after Live TV on PS5 launched in the US. If you play on a phone instead, our round-up of Android games with full gamepad support covers what works with a DualSense or Xbox pad.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time does Black Flag Resynced update 1.0.7 go live?

Ubisoft is releasing Title Update 1.0.7 on 1 September 2026 at 14:00 UTC. That is 10:00 a.m. EST and 7:00 a.m. PST. It is a single global unlock across Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5 and PC.

How big is the Black Flag Resynced 1.0.7 download?

The patch is 15.26GB on Xbox Series X and Series S, 1.53GB on PlayStation 5, 3.86GB on PC through Ubisoft Connect and 2GB on Steam. Xbox has taken the largest download on every recent Black Flag Resynced patch, so clear space before the update drops.

Does update 1.0.7 add New Game Plus to Black Flag Resynced?

No. New Game+ is not part of Title Update 1.0.7. Ubisoft mentioned the mode when the game passed three million copies sold, saying it would arrive later, but has not given a date or a patch number for it.

Can you hide Edward's pistols in Black Flag Resynced?

Yes, from update 1.0.7 onwards. The option sits with the existing gear-hiding controls in the outfit menu, the same place the blowpipe toggle was added in update 1.0.6. Update 1.0.7 also lets you disable the visual glow that trinket perks add to Edward.

Does 1.0.7 fix the Steam Deck HDR black screen?

Yes. Ubisoft lists a platform-specific fix for an issue where turning HDR on could cause a black screen on Steam Deck. The Steam build of the patch is a 2GB download.
