The Exit 8 has passed three million copies sold across every platform it is on, publisher PLAYISM and developer KOTAKE CREATE announced on Monday. The anomaly-spotting corridor game is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and on Android and iPhone, and most of those storefronts are running it at $2.79 right now.
That is up from two million, the figure the publisher last reported in August 2025. Three million is a lot of copies for a game that takes most people under an hour to finish.
What The Exit 8 sales look like platform by platform
Neither PLAYISM nor KOTAKE CREATE broke the three million figure down by store, so there is no confirmed split between PC, console and mobile. What is confirmed is the release history, which now spans seven storefronts over nearly three years.

Steam has the game at $2.79, down 30 percent from its $3.99 list price, and the store page says that promotion ends on 20 September. The US eShop is also showing $2.79. On phones it is a paid download with no in-app purchases attached: $2.79 on Google Play and $2.89 on the App Store.
The mobile build is small. Apple lists the iPhone download at 389MB and requires iOS 16 or later, which puts it comfortably inside the bracket we cover in our round-up of offline Android games under 500MB. There is no subscription tier and nothing to unlock with money once you own it.
Why a corridor keeps selling
The loop is the whole game. You walk down a looping underground passage modelled on Japanese subway corridors, and you have to decide each lap whether anything has changed — a poster, a light, the man walking towards you. Spot an anomaly and turn back. See nothing wrong and keep going. Get it wrong and you are dropped back at Exit 0.
It landed in late 2023 and was copied fast. Search either Steam or Google Play for anomaly games now and you get pages of them, most of them free, which is why the original's asking price comes up in its reviews as often as its length does.
The Google Play version carries a 2.7-star average from around 367 ratings, noticeably below how the PC and console versions are received. Where it sits against this year's other milestones
Three million for a sub-$4 indie is a different kind of number to the ones big releases post. Blood of Dawnwalker cleared one million copies in two days last week at full price. The Exit 8 took closer to three years and four platform launches to get here, and it is still climbing.
