Xbox has published the complete Gears of War: E-Day achievement list, and it runs to 55 entries worth 1,000 Gamerscore. The list went live on 9 September, under four weeks before the game arrives on 6 October for Xbox Series X|S and PC.

The spread is lopsided in a way long-time Gears players will recognise. Forty-six of the 55 are worth 15 Gamerscore each, six are worth 25, one is worth 75 and one is worth 85. The final entry, "The Lucky Ones Died on E-Day", is worth nothing at all and unlocks only when you have earned every other achievement.

What the Gears of War E-Day achievements list tells you about the game

The campaign achievements confirm the structure. There are unlocks tied to Acts 1 through 5, three per act for the first four acts and two in Act 5, so the story runs five acts long. A separate 15-point entry, "FNG", is awarded for finishing Boot Camp, which is the game's tutorial layer.

Difficulty naming is confirmed too. "Today We Are Canceling the Apocalypse" asks for all Acts on Insane and pays 25 Gamerscore, so Insane remains the top campaign setting. Horde Siege has its own difficulty ladder, with Infantry named as an entry rung and Allfather as the punishing one — "Never Fight Alone" wants you to extract on Allfather with every squadmate still breathing.

Two Versus modes and one map get named in passing: Demolition, Conquest and Battleship. "Somebody Set Us Up the Bomb" wants a bomb planted in Demolition that detonates without being defused, and "It Only Game, Why You Heff to Be Mad?" asks you to win a Conquest match while shutting the other team out entirely.

Which ones are going to take months

Most of the 15-point achievements are single-session tasks. A handful are not. These are the grinds worth planning around:

  • Dead Serious (85G) — 100% the campaign on Insane, get 25,000 Versus kills, hit max Player Level and max out all four classes. This is the modern successor to the old Seriously achievements.
  • For Whom The Bell Tolls (75G) — campaign on Insane, every side mission, every hidden item.
  • I WILL MASSACRE YOU (25G) — 50,000 kills in Horde Siege on any difficulty.
  • HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR… (25G) — 25,000 Versus kills, which double-count towards Dead Serious.
  • Siege Specialist (25G) — max level with the Assault, Breacher, Marksman and Medic classes in Horde Siege.
  • Stacks, On Stacks, On Stacks (15G) — spend 150,000 Energy at the Horde Siege Supply Cache.
  • Down, but Not Dead (15G) — 250 downed squadmates revived with the Stim Vaporizer.

Progression gets two markers of its own. "Field Service" pays 15 Gamerscore for reaching Player Level 100 and re-upping for the first time, while "Got Your Wings" is worth 25 for re-upping for the final time. The list does not say how many re-ups sit between those two.

There is a lighter tier as well. "Okay, Boomer." wants a Boomer carved up, "Chainsaw Go Brrrrrrrrr" is exactly what it sounds like, and "Days Since Last Accident: 0" is earned by committing a workplace safety violation on the Battleship map in Versus.

Which platforms get it, and what it costs

Gears of War: E-Day launches 6 October on Xbox Series X|S, on PC through the Xbox app, and on Steam. It supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers Xbox and the Xbox app on PC. No PlayStation 5 or Switch 2 version has been announced.

The Standard Edition is $69.99. Premium and Collector's Edition buyers start five days early, on 1 October, which means those players will be filling in the achievement list before anyone else. It is also a day-one Game Pass title on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so a subscription covers it without a purchase — the same route that put Black Ops Cold War into this month's Game Pass wave.

If you want to try the multiplayer side before committing, the earlier Gears of War: E-Day open beta covered both Horde Siege and 4v4 Versus. Cloud players should note the separate monthly hour limits coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming, which apply regardless of what you are streaming. And if you would rather grind on a phone between sessions, our list of Android games with full gamepad support covers what works with an Xbox pad.
