Parts you can swap yourself

The more interesting engineering decision is not the battery size but the fact you can replace it. The cell sits in the left earcup and is designed to be changed by the owner rather than shipped back for service. The ear cushions attach magnetically and pull off by hand. The sliders are aluminium and the hinges stainless steel — the two parts that usually crack first on plastic headbands.
