Duskfade Is Out Today on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC at $29.99
The Duskfade release lands today, 13 August, and it arrives on four platforms at once: PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The 3D action-platformer comes from Spanish studio Weird Beluga and publisher Fireshine Games, and it is priced at $29.99 — £24.99 in the UK — with a 20% pre-order discount that has been running on the console storefronts ahead of launch.
It is a paid release everywhere. There is no day-one Xbox Game Pass deal and it is not part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, so on every platform this is a straight purchase.

What the Duskfade release actually is
You play Zirian, a boy whose sister is taken after a clock tower plunges the world into permanent night. The goal is to climb the tower, get her back and bring daylight back with her. A mechanical bird called Cuckoo tags along as a companion, and the whole world is dressed in a clockpunk style — gears, towers and mechanisms as level furniture rather than background art.
Mechanically it is a grapple-dash-jump platformer with fast melee combat and abilities that unlock as you go, so later areas open up routes that were closed on a first pass. Weird Beluga has been open about the reference points: this is deliberately aimed at people who grew up on the PlayStation 2 generation of mascot platformers, and previews have consistently reached for comparisons to Jak and Daxter and Ratchet & Clank. It is single-player only, with no co-op or multiplayer component.
Download sizes and PC requirements
This is a small game to install, which is unusual for a day-one multiplatform release in 2026. Nintendo's own UK store listing puts the Switch 2 download at roughly 6.8GB, and earlier eShop data had it at 5.9GB. On PC, Steam asks for 20GB of storage, which is the same figure on both the minimum and recommended specs.
- Minimum (PC) — Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X, 8GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or Radeon RX 580, 20GB storage.
- Recommended (PC) — Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, Core i7-9700 or Ryzen 5 2600X, 16GB RAM, GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 5700, 20GB storage.
- Switch 2 — around 6.8GB, playable in handheld, tabletop and TV modes, with Save Data Cloud support for Nintendo Switch Online members.
- Steam features — achievements, cloud saves and Family Sharing.
Those PC requirements are modest by current standards; a GTX 1050 Ti minimum means a machine from several years ago should run it. For context on how much lighter this is than the other big Switch 2 arrivals this month, compare it with Oblivion Remastered's 61.5GB Switch 2 download.
Which platforms get it, and in which languages
All four versions go live today. The Switch 2 edition was not part of the original platform list — it was added to the line-up in June, alongside the confirmation of the 13 August date, so Nintendo owners are getting it simultaneously rather than months later.
Steam lists nine supported languages: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese. Nintendo's listing rates it PEGI 7 in Europe for mild violence, which makes it one of the few genuinely family-suitable new releases this week.
Prices above are the figures the storefronts state. Regional pricing differs, so check your own store page rather than converting the dollar figure yourself — and the 20% pre-order discount stops applying once the pre-order window closes.
Try the demo before you buy
A demo has been available for some time on Steam and PlayStation 5, and it is a reasonable amount of game: it covers Tick Town, a forest area and a set of clocktower ruins, and ends on a boss fight against Wrath, a creature built out of Zirian's own fears. If you are unsure whether the movement feels right, that is the cheapest way to find out.
Duskfade is also not the only launch competing for attention today — Madden NFL 27's launch times across every platform land on the same date, and on PS5 the bigger release still ahead is the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition arriving on 1 October.
If you are picking it up on Switch 2 and playing docked, our Switch and Switch 2 TV setup guide covers getting a clean signal out of the dock. And since this is a platformer built around precise movement, a decent pad matters — the same controllers listed in our roundup of Android games with full gamepad support will do the job on PC.
