Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Arrives October 1 With Two New Expansions

Sucker Punch has announced the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition, a single PlayStation 5 package that bundles the base game, the Legends co-op mode and two pieces of new content arriving on 1 October 2026. It is a PS5 release only — no PC or PS4 version was announced — and the new content reaches existing players through a free patch numbered v2.0, with the expansions themselves sold separately for anyone who already owns the game.

What the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition costs, and what you get

The Complete Edition is $69.99 and contains the main game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends — the online co-op mode for up to four players, with several modes and a Raid — plus the two new additions below. It also folds in the in-game content that previously sat behind the Digital Deluxe Edition, along with the Charm of Hokkyokusei.

If you already own Ghost of Yōtei, you do not need to buy the game twice. An upgrade covering the new expansions is priced at $14.99. Prices quoted here are the US dollar figures the studio published; other regions are set by the local PlayStation Store, so check your own listing rather than converting.

Echoes of Sekigahara, the narrative expansion

The larger of the two additions is a story expansion that splits its time between the present day and flashbacks to the Battle of Sekigahara. It introduces Nagato, a figure from Atsu's past who turns up in Ezo, and opens a valley players have not seen before — territory once held by The Snake and his followers, the Vipers.

The flashback sections cover a moment in Atsu's life before she returned home to begin her revenge, which is the part of her history the main campaign leaves largely unfilled. On the mechanical side the expansion brings new enemy types, heavy weapons, armour sets and dyes rather than a separate progression system.

Most Wanted is a roguelike run mode

The second addition is Most Wanted, described by the studio as a single-player combat survival mode and its own take on a roguelike. You accept a bounty to start a run, and defeating enemies along the way awards perks and unlocks further playable characters.

Three characters are playable, each built around a different weapon: Atsu with dual katana, Oyuki with the kusarigama, and Nagato with the yari. That makes it the first time the game has handed players anyone other than Atsu in a solo mode.

What existing owners get for free

Patch v2.0 lands for everyone who owns the game, regardless of whether they buy the expansions. Free items include Beauty of Yōtei, a screensaver-style mode for simply watching the environment, new photo mode stamps, extra Watanabe Mode tracks, and quality-of-life work that covers armour appearance customisation and a high contrast accessibility option.

One thing worth flagging: Legends is an online co-op mode, so playing it with others requires a PlayStation Plus subscription. The single-player content, including Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara, does not.

Where this sits in the PS5 calendar

An October date puts the Complete Edition into the busiest stretch of the year, and a $14.99 upgrade is a notably cheaper route back into a game than a full re-purchase — the kind of pricing that tends to bring lapsed players back rather than chase new ones. Nothing beyond the above has been confirmed. There is no announced PC port, no file size for the v2.0 patch, and no word on whether the expansions will ever be sold individually rather than as a single upgrade.
