Google Gives College Students a Free Year of AI Pro With New Gemini Study Tools
Google is giving college students in the US a free year of AI Pro, normally $19.99 a month, alongside a batch of new study features spreading across Gemini, Search, and Lens. The biggest functional change is Deep Research moving into Gemini Live, the voice mode of the Gemini app. Ask for a research report by voice, close the app, and Gemini keeps working in the background. AI Mode also gains custom practice quizzes for major standardized tests, including the SAT, ACT, GRE, LSAT, MCAT, NEET, JEE, and Brazil's ENEM.
Notebook integration is landing in AI Mode's side panel too, letting students organize class materials and past AI conversations without leaving Search.
