To get the On a Mission title in BGMI or PUBG Mobile, reach Level V in all six Weapon Mastery achievements: Assault, SMG, Sniper, Shotgun, Pistol and Melee. It is a Mythic title with no event, purchase or time limit, and it pays 60 achievement points. The rules are the same in both games.

That in-game screen (a 2020 screenshot) reads "Complete any 6 of the following" and lists exactly six: Assault, SMG, Melee, Shotgun, Sniper and Pistol Mastery V. Progress shows 0/6, and the reward is 60 points plus the title. Since only six are listed, you need all six.
What is the On a Mission title?
On a Mission is a Mythic-tier achievement title in PUBG Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). You earn it by finishing every Weapon Mastery achievement at Level V. It is a cosmetic title that shows after your name.
Despite the name, it is not a daily mission, a Royale Pass reward or a limited-time event. BGMI title lists count it among the permanent titles, so it should stay on your account once it unlocks.
What does the On a Mission title require?
You need Level V in all six Weapon Mastery achievements. Each one counts kills with one weapon class. Here are the targets, with how sure we are about each number.

Why we call three numbers estimates: the PUBG Mobile wiki lists Levels I to IV, and they match in pairs. Assault and SMG both go 10, 50, 150, 500 kills. Sniper and Shotgun both go 10, 30, 100, 300. Pistol and Melee both go 10, 30, 60, 100.
The wiki stops at Level IV, so Level V is not listed there. The Sniper Mastery V number comes from a player's video of finishing it.
Your own achievement screen is the real target. If it shows a different number than this table, trust the screen. Grenade and vehicle kills do not belong to any of the six classes.
How to get the On a Mission title, step by step
- Open Missions, then Achievements. Tap the Missions tab, then Achievements. The wiki files the Mastery achievements under the Matches group, so look there first. Find all six.
- Write down your kill count for each mastery. Pick the closest one to Level V as your first target. Or start with Pistol and Melee, which have the smallest targets.
- Use one weapon class per session in Classic matches. Each kill counts toward the class of the weapon that made it. Sticking to one class keeps the bar moving.
- Check the bar after every match. If the number did not rise, that mode or that kill did not count. Change something before you grind more.
- Claim each reward. Every level pays rewards and achievement points. The wiki lists BP, Silver Fragments and weapon camos for Levels I to IV, with 5, 10, 20 and 40 points.
- Finish the sixth Level V, then equip the title. Tap your avatar at the top left of the lobby, then Edit Information, and pick the title. The PUBG Mobile menu may look a little different from BGMI's.
Which game modes count toward Weapon Mastery?
No official page and no guide we found lists which modes count. Classic matches are the safe default. For anything else, test it before you grind.
- Note your kill count on one mastery.
- Play one match in the new mode with that weapon class.
- Open Achievements again. If the number rose, the mode counts. If it did not, it does not.
This works for Team Deathmatch, Arcade modes and limited-time modes alike. It takes one match and saves hours of wasted kills.
How long the grind takes: the math
No source gives a fixed time, so here is the arithmetic. The total is about 6,400 kills if our three estimates are right. Divide that by your average kills per match.

These are best cases. A kill with a class you already finished is wasted, so real totals run higher. Pistol (200 kills) and Melee (about 200) finish fastest. Assault and SMG take longest because their targets are the biggest.
Why is the On a Mission title not unlocking?
Most of the time, one of the six bars is still below Level V. Check these in order:
- One mastery is not at Level V. Open all six and check Progress. Several older guides list only five masteries and leave out Shotgun, so people skip it.
- The kills did not count. The bar may not rise in some modes. Run the test in the modes section above.
- Wrong game or account. BGMI and PUBG Mobile are separate apps. A transfer window from PUBG Mobile to BGMI ran until December 2021, per Wikipedia.
- Rewards not claimed. Claim every finished mastery reward. We found no source saying this is required for the title, but it costs nothing.
- Unlocked but not equipped. Pick the title from Edit Information on your profile.
- Old app version or a sync problem. Update the app, restart it and log in again. This is a general fix, and we found no report that it solves this exact problem.

On a Mission vs Weapon Master
People mix up these two titles because both are about weapons. On a Mission is a long grind across many matches. Weapon Master is a one-match challenge.

Guides disagree on two Weapon Master details. Most say solo Classic only, but a 2020 guide says duo and squad also work. One guide says you must also win the match, and others do not. Check the in-game text before you try.
Warhorse and Veteran: titles you earn on the way
You do not have to finish all six masteries to get a title. Two lower titles unlock part of the way.

The 60 points also count toward points-based titles. Overachiever needs 2,800 achievement points, and Unique Destiny needs 6,000.
BGMI vs PUBG Mobile: does anything change?
No difference for On a Mission turned up in any guide we read. Title lists for both games show the same six masteries. The games are separate apps with separate accounts.
BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) is Krafton's version of PUBG Mobile for India, per Wikipedia. We found no way to move progress between the two now. If you are outside India, you most likely play PUBG Mobile.

We did not play the game for this update. We read title guides dated from 2020 to 2026, the PUBG Mobile wiki, a player's video and Wikipedia. We looked for an official Krafton or Tencent list of kill counts and found none.
What we confirmed on November 3, 2026: the six masteries are named in the in-game screenshot and in several guides. The title is Mythic and pays 60 points. A title guide updated in 2024 lists Warhorse (2 of 6) and Veteran (4 of 6). A 2026 title list still includes On a Mission.
What we could not confirm: the SMG, Shotgun and Melee kill counts, which modes count, whether claiming rewards is required, and the exact menu path in your version. We only saw the equip path in a search listing for BGMI's help page, not on the page itself. If anything here differs from your in-game screen, trust your screen.
