The first wave is going to Korean owners who were in the One UI 9 beta program, as a download of roughly 500MB. The rollout is expected to reach other countries over the next few days, according to reports, but no country list has been published.

When will the US Galaxy S24 get One UI 9?

Samsung has not announced a US date for the Galaxy S24, Z Fold6 or Z Flip6. The two earlier waves of One UI 9 give a rough guide, because each one started in Korea and crossed to a US carrier within about a week:

WaveKorea startFirst US releaseGap
Galaxy S26 seriesSeptember 16September 23 (T-Mobile)7 days
Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold7, Z Flip7September 28October 2 (Verizon; AT&T for Z Fold7 and Z Flip7)4 days
Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold6, Z Flip6October 6Not yet—

That pattern is not a promise. The first US carrier also changed between waves: T-Mobile went first for the Galaxy S26 US One UI 9 rollout, while Verizon led for the Galaxy S25 One UI 9 update, with unlocked phones trailing in both cases. US downloads have also been far bigger than Korean ones: the US Galaxy S26 file was about 4.1GB, against roughly 650MB in Korea.

Which Galaxy phones are in this One UI 9 wave?

Five phones are getting stable One UI 9 now: the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra, plus the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. Reports on the release do not name the Galaxy S24 FE, the Galaxy S23 series or any Galaxy A-series phone, so those models are not part of this wave.

Build numbers have been published for two models so far, both Korean variants: S928NKSU6EZIF for the Galaxy S24 Ultra and F956NKSU4EZIH for the Galaxy Z Fold6. No build numbers for US models exist yet, and none have been published for the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ or Galaxy Z Flip6.

What does One UI 9 add to the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold6?

The stable Galaxy S24 and Z Fold6 update brings a more customizable Quick Panel, changes to Samsung DeX and Samsung Notes, accessibility improvements and a location privacy indicator that shows when an app is using your location. The Galaxy Z Fold6 release also lists Galaxy AI features Samsung added during the beta: Call Brief, which shows more context about an incoming caller, My FanCam, which crops an existing video to follow one person, and custom Now Brief cards.

Galaxy S24 owners in the beta already had most of these. The One UI 9 Beta 2 build for the Galaxy S24 in September added Call Brief, My FanCam, custom Now Brief cards and Now Nudge in a 600MB download.

How to check for One UI 9 on a Galaxy S24

  • Open Settings.
  • Tap Software update, then Check for updates (on some carrier models this reads Download and install).
  • If One UI 9 is offered, connect to Wi-Fi and charge the phone before installing, since US carrier builds have run to several gigabytes.

If nothing shows up, the phone is not in the rollout yet. Samsung releases One UI updates in stages by country and carrier, so checking again over the next few days is the only option.
