Translucent shells are Ice Blue, Crystal, Watermelon and Clear Purple. The gap between 8GB and 12GB is now $30. At launch it was $40.
The store listed all 14 Nova versions as orderable on 4 October. Stock moves fast on small-batch handhelds, so check the official Nova page before you plan around it.
Retroid has not said how orders placed before 6 August were priced. For the Pocket 6 hike in March, Retroid said existing orders kept the old price. For the Nova, that is not confirmed.
Retroid Pocket Nova price history
- 25 to 26 June 2026: Retroid announces the Nova. Pre-orders open on 26 June at $229, $234, $269 and $274, with a free bumped back shell and screen protector.
- 28 July 2026: first units start shipping, according to press coverage.
- Late July: Retroid says it is trying to keep the price steady while Qualcomm raises chip costs.
- 3 August: Retroid announces a $10 rise for the 8GB model, starting 6 August.
- 6 August: 8GB goes to $239 ($244 translucent). 12GB stays at $269 ($274).
- 4 October: the store still shows those same prices.
Why did Retroid raise the Pocket Nova price?
Retroid said the rise was due to rising Qualcomm chipset and raw material costs. Press reports at the time said Qualcomm was lifting chip prices for shipments from 1 September 2026. Qualcomm has not published a percentage. Our Qualcomm price report explains the range reported.
Retroid has not said why only the 8GB version went up. It also has not said whether more increases are coming. We saw none between 6 August and 4 October.
This was not the first Retroid hike this year. The Pocket 6 8GB went from $229 to $244 on 2 March 2026, blamed on memory costs. The store shows $244 today. Memory prices also pushed up other devices, like the Pixel 11.

Chip, RAM, storage, screen, battery, cooling and wireless come from the Retroid store listing. Size, weight and charging speed come from press coverage.
Android Authority reported on 3 August that LineageOS 23.2, based on Android 16, got official Nova support. The catch is that you may lose Retroid's own launcher.
Where to buy the Retroid Pocket Nova in the US
- Retroid's own store (confirmed): goretroid.com sells every Nova version in US dollars. Use the official Nova page.
- Best Buy (not confirmed): a Best Buy listing for a 12GB/128GB Nova showed up in search results. We could not load it, so we cannot confirm price or stock.
- Amazon (not confirmed): Retroid has sold other models there. We could not confirm a Nova listing.
Be careful with resellers. A price above the store price means you are paying for stock, not for a better device.
Shipping to the US
The Retroid shipping policy lists three things. Processing takes 1 to 7 days. Standard 4PX shipping takes about 15 to 60 days. DHL is the faster option. DHL can add a remote-area fee of up to about $50.
Tariffs and import fees
Not confirmed for the Nova. The shipping policy does not mention US tariffs or duties. In April 2025, Retroid said it would pay US tariff fees for customers and raised US shipping by about $20. That notice covered a short trial window. Nothing on the store now says it still applies.

Is the Retroid Pocket Nova worth it in 2026?
It is worth it if you want a pocket-size handheld for PS2, GameCube, Dreamcast and older systems. Reviewers praise the 4:3 AMOLED screen for those games. Retro Dodo called it the best 4:3 retro handheld of 2026 so far.
- Buy it if your library is 4:3 retro games and you want something small.
- Think twice if you play modern widescreen or Switch games. The 16:9 Pocket 6 suits those better.
- Watch the battery. Retro Dodo reported about 3 to 5 hours of heavy PS2 and Dreamcast play.
- Pick 12GB if you can. It is only $30 more than 8GB now. We have not tested either version ourselves.

Reviewers say the Nova and Pocket 6 share the same chip class. The Pocket 6 has a 5.5-inch 16:9 screen and a 6,000mAh battery. The Nova has a 4.5-inch 4:3 screen and 5,000mAh.
The store feed no longer lists a Pocket Mini handheld, only Mini accessories. We could not confirm whether it is discontinued.

- Undecided between 8GB and 12GB: the gap is $30. Compare it with how long you will keep the device.
- Unsure about the screen: if you play widescreen games, look at the Pocket 6 first.
