Pixel 11 Price Increase Confirmed: $899 to $1,899 in the US, $100 Over Pixel 10
The Pixel 11 price increase is now official. Google announced the lineup on August 12 at $899 for the Pixel 11, $1,099 for the Pixel 11 Pro, $1,299 for the Pixel 11 Pro XL and $1,899 for the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Each is $100 more than the matching Pixel 10 launch price. The phones went on sale at the Google Store and retail partners on August 20. Weeks before launch, Shakil Barkat, Google's VP of Devices and Services, had already blamed memory costs, saying Google could no longer absorb what the RAM market is doing.

Prices are from Google's launch announcement and the US Google Store. Two details change how the increase lands:
- Storage doubled on two models. Every Pixel 11 starts at 256GB. For the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, that is double the Pixel 10's 128GB base, so the $100 buys twice the storage. The Pro XL and Pro Fold already started at 256GB, so for them it is a straight $100 increase.
- Pro RAM went down. The 256GB Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL ship with 12GB of RAM. Google's spec sheet only gives 16GB on the 512GB and 1TB versions, while every Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL had 16GB. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold keeps 16GB across the range, and the standard Pixel 11 has 12GB, the same as the Pixel 10.

What Google actually said
Barkat's line, as quoted in that interview, was blunt: "there's never been an increase in memory prices like the world's going through right now." He added that Google has "shielded our consumers from supply fluctuations for as long as possible."
The figure behind it comes from Morgan Stanley data cited in the same reporting: 1GB of RAM went from about $2.80 in 2025 to roughly $12 in 2026. That is a sixfold rise in a year, on a component every phone needs in quantity.
At the time, Google did not give numbers. Barkat declined to share specific figures and said adjustments would be rolled out dynamically to match supply realities. The price list arrived at the August 12 launch.
What the pre-launch leaks got right
Before launch, this article kept confirmed facts and leaks apart. Here is how the leaks turned out:
- Pixel 11 at $899, up from $799: correct.
- A similar $100 rise on the Pro XL and Pro Fold: correct, and the Pixel 11 Pro also went up $100.
- Base storage doubling from 128GB to 256GB: correct for the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro. All four models now start at 256GB.

Phones already on sale are affected too
Barkat said in-market Pixels would eventually see an impact, but gave no date. As of September 24, 2026, that has not happened at the Google Store in the US. The Pixel 10a is still listed at $499, and it is on sale for $424 until September 27. The Pixel 10 is still listed from $799, the Pixel 10 Pro from $999 and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold from $1,799. Google's "dynamic" wording means an increase could still come at any time, not only at a launch event.
Google says it will stay competitive through promotions, trade-in offers and Google One bundles rather than by holding sticker prices down — which is worth reading as a hint that the discount, not the list price, is where the value will sit.
What to do about it
- Want a Pixel 10 or 10a? Their list prices have not gone up yet, and the 10a's $75 discount runs until September 27. Google has not promised those prices will hold.
- Choosing a Pixel 11 Pro or Pro XL? Check the RAM, not just the price. The 256GB models have 12GB. If you want the 16GB the Pixel 10 Pro had, you have to buy 512GB or more.
- Comparing on storage. On the Pixel 11 and 11 Pro, $100 more gets you double the base storage. That is close to flat against a 256GB Pixel 10. On the Pro XL and Fold, it is a real $100 increase.
- Holding an older Pixel? Google says trade-ins and promotions are how it will compete, and the Google Store is already showing trade-in pricing on every Pixel 11. Get a quote before you commit.
Android is going on a memory diet
The more consequential news is the engineering response. Google described a dedicated effort to reduce how much RAM Android and its app ecosystem need without losing performance. Against that, the Pixel 11's 12.5% rise on the base model (with double the storage) is at the milder end.
