EA Sports FC 27 Out Now: Price, Platforms and File Size

EA Sports FC 27 launched worldwide on 25 September, a week after Ultimate Edition owners got in early, and the standard edition costs $69.99 on Steam and the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop. It is out on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC through the EA app, Steam and the Epic Games Store, and on both Switch and Switch 2 — but the older machines do not get the full game.

That last point is the one to check before you buy. The Grounds, EA's new social hub, and the Clubs mode that now lives inside it are limited to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2. A PS4, Xbox One or original Switch copy skips both.

How much does EA Sports FC 27 cost?

These are the US prices listed on the storefronts today:

Standard Edition: $69.99 on Steam, and $69.99 digital on Switch 2.
Ultimate Edition: $99.99 on Steam. It adds 6,000 FC Points spread over three months, an extra Ultimate Team Evolution slot, three ICON or Hero picks and five-star scouts and coaches for Manager Career, plus cosmetics and XP boosts for The Grounds.
Ultimate Plus Edition: sold only through the EA app, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. EA says it is not offered on Nintendo platforms or the Epic Games Store.
FC Points: from $4.99 for 500 up to $149.99 for 18,500 on Steam.

The early access window that came with Ultimate has now closed, so paying the extra $30 today buys the points and the extras, not extra time. If you already own a PS4 or Xbox One copy, EA confirms the upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version is free on the same console family.

EA Sports FC 27 file size and PC requirements

Steam asks for 100GB of free space on every tier. The Switch 2 version is a 75.6GB download according to Nintendo's US store listing. EA and Sony have not published official PS5 or Xbox sizes, so plan for a download in the same range.

The PC requirements are modest by 2026 standards:

Minimum (720p, 60fps, Low): Ryzen 5 1600 or Core i5-6600K, 8GB of dual-channel RAM, Radeon RX 570 or GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, DirectX 12. An SSD is recommended.
Recommended (1080p, 60fps, Medium): Ryzen 7 2700X or Core i7-6700, 12GB of dual-channel RAM, Radeon RX 5600 XT or GeForce GTX 1660. An SSD is required at this tier.

Which platforms get The Grounds and Clubs?

The Grounds is a hub of up to 100 players where your Virtual Pro levels up across archetypes. It holds Clubs (co-op with up to 10 teammates, now with promotion and relegation leagues and house-rule tournaments such as King of the Hill and No Rules), Stadium Drop In, small-sided 1v1 to 3v3 games and party-style Kickabouts.

On Switch 2 it supports 2 to 100 players online and up to four on one system. Kick Off, Manager Career, Player Career and Ultimate Team are on every platform, but anyone who mainly plays Clubs with friends should not buy the PS4, Xbox One or Switch version.

Can you try EA Sports FC 27 for free?

Yes, if you are on Xbox or PC. The 10-hour EA Play trial has been live since 18 September on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC for EA Play members, which includes Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Anything you unlock in those 10 hours carries over if you buy the full game, and members get 10% off the purchase.

If you only want to test the feel of the pitch before paying $70, that trial is the cheapest way to do it. PlayStation and Switch players have no free trial announced.

What to do in your first week

One deadline is worth knowing. EA's Club Membership, which hands out extra rewards across Ultimate Team, Career, The Grounds and Clubs through the season, requires you to play both FC 26 and FC 27 before 1 November 2026. Existing FC 26 members keep their status the same way. If you still have FC 26 installed, boot it once before you delete it to make room for the new game.

The game ships with a title update already out: version 1.0.1 arrived on 22 September with fixes for Ultimate Team and The Grounds, and a raised default jockey speed in Authentic Gameplay for Career and Kick Off. It does not affect competitive modes.
