The Coalition has opened the fifth year of its Never Fight Alone suicide prevention campaign, and this time it comes with in-game content attached. When Gears of War: E-Day launches on 6 October for Xbox Series X|S and PC, players will be able to buy a Never Fight Alone Charity Bundle whose entire net revenue is donated to Crisis Text Line.

The studio announced the campaign on 10 September, World Suicide Prevention Day, which is the date it has used to renew the effort each year since 2022. Alongside the bundle, The Coalition says it donates 1% of net revenue from its products to Crisis Text Line on an ongoing basis.

What is in the Gears of War Never Fight Alone bundle

The Coalition has listed the contents rather than teasing them. The Never Fight Alone Charity Bundle contains:

  • A unique character skin
  • A weapon skin set
  • An emblem
  • A banner
  • An icon

It is cosmetic only, and it arrives at launch rather than in a later season. The studio has not published a price for the bundle, and it has not said whether it will remain on sale permanently or run for a limited window. Both of those are worth watching closer to 6 October.

The important distinction is where the money goes. All net revenue from the bundle is donated directly to Crisis Text Line, which is a different arrangement from the standing 1% figure applied to The Coalition's other products.

Which platforms get it

Gears of War: E-Day is an Xbox Series X|S and PC release, so the bundle follows the game to those two platforms. There is no Xbox One version of E-Day, and no PlayStation or Switch release has been announced. If you are planning a launch-day run at the achievement list, our breakdown of all 55 Gears of War E-Day achievements covers what the 1,000 Gamerscore actually asks for.

The campaign is not limited to the game. Artwork for the 2026 run comes from Luke Preece, an Australian illustrator who has worked on E-Day previously and whose poster work includes Metallica, Sleep Token, Ozzy Osbourne and the Aliens franchise. His designs appear on a T-shirt and a hoodie sold through the Xbox Game Studios Shop, and on the in-game items shipping with the bundle.

Where the donations go

Crisis Text Line is a free, confidential text-based mental health and crisis intervention service that operates 24 hours a day. The Coalition says Never Fight Alone has supported more than 16,000 Crisis Text Line conversations to date across its four previous years.

Crisis Text Line has also widened its coverage recently. It joined forces with Aquí Estoy, a non-profit that serves people in 20 Spanish-speaking countries across Latin America, Spain and the Caribbean, which extends the reach of what the Gears campaign funds beyond English-language support.

Anyone who wants to reach the service through the Gears campaign can text GEARS to 741741 to be connected with a Crisis Text Line volunteer.

How this fits the run-up to E-Day

E-Day is now under four weeks out, and the pre-launch drip has been steady: the full achievement list went up on 9 September, and the open beta opened to everyone on Xbox Series X|S and PC earlier in the cycle. The charity bundle is the first piece of confirmed post-launch-facing store content for the game.

Charity tie-ins in games are usually vague about the split. This one is not: the bundle's net revenue goes to the charity in full, and the 1% product-wide figure is stated separately. That is closer to the model used by the Technoblade documentary funded by Riot and Hypixel, where the destination of the money was named up front rather than described as "supporting" a cause.

If you are playing on PC or planning to stream E-Day to a handheld or phone, our tested list of Android games with gamepad support covers which controllers pair cleanly with an Android device, including Xbox pads.

The Coalition has not said whether the bundle will be available on day one at midnight or added during launch week, and it has not confirmed a regional price list. We will update when it does.
