Outage-tracking data published alongside the reports puts the disruption in perspective. Reports about Netflix peaked at roughly 190 in the minutes before kickoff, against a normal baseline of about 11. That is a real spike, but it is a small one for a service with hundreds of millions of subscribers, and plenty of viewers said their picture and sound were fine. The audio criticism was far more widespread than the outage reports.

A few of the reported failures were device problems rather than stream problems, and they are fixable in advance:

Netflix does not support live events on Chromecast 1st through 3rd generation or Chromecast Ultra, and casting from a Chrome browser or a screen-mirroring app will not work either. Use the TV's built-in app or a streaming stick.
Phones and tablets need Android 9 or newer, or iOS and iPadOS 18 or newer.
Wired ethernet or 5GHz Wi-Fi on the TV itself beats casting from a phone for a two-and-a-half hour live event.
If your soundbar is doing the decoding, check whether it is set to a surround mode that is guessing at a stereo feed.

Is Netflix going to fix it?

Netflix has not issued a public statement about the audio, and neither has the league, so nothing about a fix is confirmed. What is confirmed is that the company has four more regular-season games to get it right: the Green Bay Packers at the Los Angeles Rams on Thanksgiving Eve, 25 November, two games on Christmas Day, and a Week 18 game on 9 January 2027.

The stakes there are higher than one broadcast's mix.
