Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Update Adds Six Cars and Sportsland Sugo Tonight, Plus an $84.99 DualSense
The Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update Part 1 goes live at 11:00 pm PDT on October 14 (2:00 am ET, 7:00 am BST on October 15), adding six cars, the Sportsland Sugo circuit and four new game features at no cost. Sony says every Gran Turismo 7 player gets it, and the game is sold on both PS5 and PS4. You need an internet connection to download it.
Sony used the same announcement to reveal a 30th-anniversary DualSense: the Gran Turismo Limited Edition controller costs $84.99 in the US. Pre-orders open October 22 and it ships from December 10.
What's in the Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV update Part 1
Polyphony Digital has split Spec IV into two drops. Part 1 is the October half, and this is what it contains:
- Sportsland Sugo, a technical Japanese circuit known for its steep elevation changes, and a fixture of the Super GT calendar.
- Six new cars, listed below.
- Six new World Circuit events, including new Sunday Cup races.
- Experience, a mode built around brand-specific driving challenges.
- Car Viewer, for looking over the cars in your garage in detail.
- Vintage, a section for cars that are no longer sold new.
- Car Concierge, a service for ordering Used and Legend cars.
- A higher Collector Level cap, new Scapes photo locations and a new Spec IV opening cinematic.
Polyphony has not said how high the new Collector Level cap goes, and Sony did not give a download size for the patch. Check the size on your console once the update appears.
Which six cars arrive, and are they free?
The update itself is free. The cars are not handed out, though. Sony's own small print says you buy them with in-game credits, which you can earn by playing or buy with real money. All six are sold through Brand Central.
- Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, an electric hypercar concept
- Ferrari F355 Berlinetta '94
- Honda Civic Si Group A version '87, based on the Mugen Motul Civic that took its class in the 1987 All-Japan Touring Car Championship
- Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Evo '26, a four-rotor race car
- Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line '23, a family minivan
- Citroën 2 CV 6 Charleston '86
Credit prices for each car have not been published. They will show in Brand Central when the update goes live.
When does Spec IV Part 2 come out?
Part 2 is due in December 2026, but Polyphony has not given an exact day. It has already said what is in it: the Autumn Ring circuit with an expanded layout next to the original, six more cars, a Family mode, Shuffle Race, Online Drift Trial, a new version of the Gran Turismo Sophy AI and a harder Power Pack difficulty level.
Both halves are free updates, so nobody who owns Gran Turismo 7 has to buy an expansion for them.
Gran Turismo Limited Edition DualSense price and pre-order date
The anniversary controller has racing stripes, motorsport-style graphics and a textured front plate made to look like carbon fibre. Sony's suggested prices are $84.99, €84.99, £74.99 and ¥12,480. Stock is limited.
- Pre-orders: October 22 at 10:00 am ET in the US, through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers.

Can you try Gran Turismo 7 for free?
Partly. My First GT is a free download on the PlayStation Store and serves as a cut-down taster of Gran Turismo 7. It does not include the Spec IV content. The full game is still needed for Sportsland Sugo, the new cars and the new modes.
