Which regions get the black one
This is the part worth reading twice, because the two colours are not equally available. The White Limited Edition goes to both direct.playstation.com and participating retailers globally. The Black Limited Edition is restricted to direct.playstation.com where that store operates, plus a smaller pool of selected retailers elsewhere.
Sony's direct store covers the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria. If you live outside that list and want the black pad, your only route is a retailer that Sony has picked, and none have been named yet. Anyone in that position should treat 10 September as a day to be at a keyboard rather than a day to browse casually.
What the controllers actually look like
Both pads use a colour-shifting finish that changes tone depending on how light hits it, with palm tree shapes moulded into the shell rather than printed on. Sony frames the white version as Vice City at daybreak — pale sand and pastel tones — and the black version as the same city after dark.
