Peacock Premium Will Be Included With YouTube Premium in the US
YouTube and NBCUniversal have announced that Peacock Premium will be bundled into YouTube Premium in the United States, at no extra charge to subscribers. The companies say the perk arrives in early 2027, and it is the single largest distribution deal Peacock has signed.
The same agreement extends NBCUniversal's multi-year carriage deal with YouTube TV, keeping NBC's broadcast, cable, news and sports channels on the service. For anyone already paying for YouTube Premium on Android or iPhone, this is roughly $11 a month of streaming folded into a subscription they already have.

Which Peacock tier you actually get
The included tier is Peacock Premium, which carries advertising. That is the $11-per-month plan, and it covers the full catalogue: NBC Sports' NFL and NBA rights, Universal films, and originals across Peacock and Bravo.
The ad-free tier, Peacock Premium Plus, is not part of the bundle. Subscribers will be offered the option to upgrade to it for an additional fee, though neither company has said what that upgrade will cost.
When it starts — and why you may see two dates
Executives put the launch in early 2027. YouTube's own announcement is vaguer, saying only that it will share details "over the coming months" without naming a date. Both are describing the same rollout: early 2027 is the target, and the specifics are still to come.
One thing does land sooner. Peacock Premium is also being added as a standalone YouTube Primetime Channels add-on later this summer, which is a separate paid subscription rather than the free inclusion described above.
Who qualifies
Neither company has published a full tier-by-tier eligibility list, so treat the following as the current picture rather than final terms:
- YouTube Premium ($15.99/month individual) — expected to be included.
- Family ($26.99/month) and Student ($8.99/month) — not yet addressed publicly.
- YouTube Premium Lite ($8.99/month) — reported to be excluded. Lite strips out YouTube Music, offline downloads and background play, and appears to sit outside this deal too.
- Outside the US — not included at launch. International bundles are described as planned, with no countries or timing named.
Importantly, the people briefed on the agreement say YouTube Premium's price is not going up because of it. That matters, because US subscribers were already moved onto higher pricing on 4 June 2026, when the individual plan rose from $13.99 to $15.99.
What you need to do
Nothing yet. There is no sign-up list, no promo code and no action required before launch. When it goes live, the expectation is that eligible accounts will link Peacock through their existing YouTube membership rather than pay separately.
If you are already paying for Peacock Premium directly, the sensible move is to wait rather than cancel now — the bundle is months away, and cancelling early only loses you access in the meantime. Check which YouTube plan you are on first, under your account's paid memberships page, since Lite subscribers may need to move up to full Premium to benefit.
Free NBC sport on YouTube too
Separately, a selection of NBCUniversal live sporting events will stream free on NBC Sports' YouTube channel. No subscription is needed for those, and no event list has been published.
The commercial logic is straightforward. Peacock reported 48 million subscribers in its most recent quarter and has only recently turned profitable; placing it inside a subscription that tens of millions of people already pay for is a fast route to scale. YouTube, for its part, gains a reason for subscribers to accept this year's higher price. Full terms are on YouTube's official announcement.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Peacock really free with YouTube Premium?
Yes, for eligible YouTube Premium subscribers in the United States. Ad-supported Peacock Premium will be included in the membership at no additional charge, and the companies say YouTube Premium's price is not rising because of the deal. It is expected to start in early 2027.
Which Peacock plan is included?
Peacock Premium, the ad-supported tier that normally costs $11 a month. The ad-free Peacock Premium Plus tier is not included, though subscribers will be able to upgrade to it for an extra fee. That upgrade price has not been announced.
Does YouTube Premium Lite get Peacock?
Reports indicate that Premium Lite subscribers are excluded, and neither company has said otherwise. Lite costs $8.99 a month and already leaves out YouTube Music, offline downloads and background play. Lite users would likely need to move to full YouTube Premium to qualify.
Will Peacock be included outside the United States?
Not at launch. The bundle is a US offer, and international versions have only been described as planned. No countries, dates or pricing for other markets have been confirmed.
Should I cancel my Peacock subscription now?
There is no benefit to cancelling early. The bundle is not expected until early 2027, so cancelling now simply removes your access in the meantime. Wait until YouTube confirms the launch date and the eligibility terms for your specific plan.
