Level-5 Vision 2026: Curious Village Remake Hits PS5, Switch 2 and PC in 2027
Level-5 closed its LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II "Dream" showcase on 10 September with a remake nobody had on the card: Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake, rebuilding the 2007 Nintendo DS original for PS5, Switch 2, Switch and PC via Steam in 2027. The same broadcast pushed Decapolice back a year, gave Holy Horror Mansion a 2027 window, and revealed a full sequel to Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road.

The stream ran at 21:00 JST on the Level5Ch YouTube channel, with English-subtitled and Traditional Chinese versions posted alongside the Japanese broadcast. Several of the titles shown had already appeared in Nintendo's 9 September Direct; the Vision presentation is where Level-5 filled in platforms, windows and the delays.

What the Curious Village Remake actually changes
The original shipped on DS in February 2007 and leaned on two screens and a stylus. Level-5 says the remake moves characters to 3D models, redraws the animated cutscenes at high resolution in widescreen, and rebuilds the experience for a single screen — the structural change that matters most, since the DS version put puzzles on the touch screen and the scene above it.
The story is unchanged: Layton and his apprentice Luke travel to the village of St. Mystere at the request of Lady Dahlia Reinhold. Level-5 has not said how many puzzles the remake carries, whether the DS puzzle set is expanded, or whether the mobile HD release from years ago forms the base. If you want the series in your pocket in the meantime, the genre is well served on phones — our round-up of the best puzzle games for Android covers the real ones rather than ad farms.
Decapolice slips again, and Holy Horror Mansion gets a window
Decapolice has now been delayed four times. Announced in 2023 for that year, it moved to 2024, then to 2026, and is now a 2027 release on PS5, Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Level-5 did offer something concrete in return: the crime-suspense RPG will be playable on the show floor at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Holy Horror Mansion is also playable at TGS 2026 and is targeting 2027 on PC, PS5 and Switch 2. Level-5 described a cross-media push around it — merchandise and tie-ins beyond the game itself — which the studio characterised as the largest such project in its history. Nothing about that expansion has a date attached.
Inazuma Eleven: Bold Revolution is a real sequel, not a spin-off
Bold Revolution — Rekka no Kakumei in Japanese — continues the story of Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road rather than remixing it. It introduces Shane Starfall (Furuhoshi Nagi) as a new protagonist and brings back Victory Road's Destin Billows (Sazanami Unmei), so both leads appear together.
That is close to everything Level-5 confirmed. Platforms, a release window and the meaning behind the subtitle are all being held for a future Vision stream. Treat any platform list circulating now as unconfirmed.
A 30th anniversary tease for 2027
Level-5 chief executive Akihiro Hino ended the broadcast by pointing at next year. The studio turns 30 in 2027, and Hino said the next Vision presentation would carry one of the company's biggest announcements yet, unveiling a major title for the anniversary. He named nothing. No franchise, no platform, no window — so it is a tease, not an announcement.
For Switch owners weighing which of these to plan around, the platform picture keeps shifting underneath them: Nintendo has just rolled out system update 23.0.0 with docked VRR, and its Customer Appreciation Sale runs 13 to 26 September. The Direct that set the New World of Steam date is broken down in our Nintendo Direct rundown.
Nothing shown at Vision 2026 II is a 2026 release except New World of Steam. Everything else Level-5 dated landed in 2027.
